L5P Duramax Full DPF/EGR/DEF Delete Kit (2024-2025)
The 2024, 2025 L5P Duramax Full DPF/EGR/DEF Delete Kit combines emissions-removal hardware, ECM unlocking, tune programming, and a vehicle-specific calibration for supported Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra HD pickups. The package removes the factory diesel particulate filter (DPF), diesel exhaust fluid and selective catalytic reduction (DEF/SCR) system, and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve and cooler. The complete setup stops forced regeneration cycles, disables supported emissions monitoring, and improves exhaust flow after correct installation and tuning.Β
What's included in delete kit
The complete L5P delete kit includes the programming equipment, licensing, custom calibration, EGR removal hardware, exhaust components, and installation parts required for a supported 2024β2025 truck.
-
ECU Unlock Tool - The OBD II programming interface connects a Windows laptop to the truck after the factory ECM has been unlocked. The device reads vehicle information, licenses the controller, and writes the supplied calibration.
-
ECM Unlock Service - The factory control module must be removed and sent to the tuners for bench unlocking before programming. The unlock service provides the access required to install compatible software on the 2024β2025 L5P platform.
-
Tuning Credits - The package includes the required HP Tuners credits for licensing one supported controller and installing the selected single calibration. Additional credits or files may be required for optional Multi-Tune packages or other vehicles.
-
Custom Tune File - The vehicle-specific file is prepared from the VIN, controller information, stock file, infolog, tire size, and modification details. The available single power levels are 0 HP, +35 HP, +70 HP, +125 HP, and +180 HP.
-
Complete EGR Valve and Cooler Removal Kit - The L5P EGR delete kit includes block-off plates, fittings, gaskets, hoses, and supporting hardware for removing the factory exhaust gas recirculation components and EGR cooler.
-
DPF Delete Pipe or Complete Exhaust System - Buyers can select a direct-fit delete pipe, a 4-inch system, or a 5-inch system. Each option replaces the restrictive diesel particulate filter section and reduces exhaust backpressure.
-
Installation Hardware - The package includes clamps, fasteners, brackets, seals, and mounting components for the selected exhaust and EGR configuration.
Vehicle compatibility
-
Years: 2024, 2025
-
Makes: Chevrolet, GMC
-
Models: Silverado 2500HD / 3500HD, Sierra 2500HD / 3500HD
-
Engine: 6.6L Duramax Turbo Diesel
-
Body style: Pickup
The Duramax delete kit is not intended for earlier L5P model years that use different controller access procedures. VIN confirmation is recommended because software, transmission, controller, and body-style differences can affect compatibility.
Performance & tuning
The L5P tuner provides five available single-file output choices for stock-like operation, towing, daily driving, or higher-performance applications.
-
No forced regen cycles
-
Improved throttle response
-
Stronger towing response
-
Potential fuel economy gains
-
Lower EGTs under load
-
Reduced emissions-system failures

A stainless steel exhaust provides corrosion resistance and durable service. A larger system can produce a deeper sound, but pipe diameter alone does not guarantee additional horsepower.
How the delete kit works on your L5P Duramax
The L5P DPF delete process replaces the aftertreatment hardware and installs programming written for the unlocked controller.
-
Remove and ship the factory ECM for unlocking.
-
Reinstall the unlocked ECM in the truck.
-
Remove the DPF, DEF, and EGR hardware.
-
Install the selected pipe and EGR components.
-
License and flash the supplied calibration through OBD II.
Installation information
The package includes detailed mechanical and programming instructions. A customer with strong mechanical skills and basic Windows computer experience can install the hardware, but the ECM must first be removed and sent for professional bench unlocking.
The L5P full delete kit requires stable battery voltage during flashing. A charger or power supply should maintain voltage throughout the programming process to reduce the risk of an interrupted write.
